Retailers

Britex, San Francisco, CA. Fabric store of the Gods... the four-story fabric Mecca right on Union Square. Well worth the drive into the City.

Hart's Fabric, Santa Cruz, CA. Fantastic small local store with an amazing selection of hard-to-finds. There is something to be said for the little guy... no big box stores here!

Joann's, Cupertino, CA. Chain nationwide store. Good general fabrics and trims... they got the basics

Beverly's, Soquel, Ca. California only, mostly crafts now, not much fabric, but still good for notions and such.

MJ Trimming, Gods of the trimming world. Excellent selection of everything trim, but not excellent prices (pretty close to retail).

eBay, What isn't on eBay nowadays? This is my only choice for specific, hard-to-find items (shoes, cameo choker, etc...)

The Sewing Place, Good online store for basic fabrics, they also carry the full line of the yummy Ambiance linings (all 80 colors!).

Lace and Trim, excellent source for cheap basic trims. Got the 60 yards of lace wholesale here.

Computer Nerds gone Seamstresses!!
There seems to be a number of "us" online that I keep running into, women in the professional/office/computer/web world, with a side-passion/business in costuming. We are such detail oriented people. What drives us here?

Past and Present Creations-- Moviegowns.com, An amazing woman with amazing talents. I real inspiration, with unbelievable costumes. And she is lucky enough to do this full time. Kudos gurl!

Costumes by Lynn McMasters, Another amazing woman with amazing talents. Ren costumes to die for!

Semptress -- Elizabethan Costuming, One of my favorite people to read, she has great stories and explanations, and tons of info on costuming. Read Sewing with Cats... hilarious! And so TRUE!

Other fine folks online
There are some amazingly gifted and talented people out from which I draw much inspiration and support, here are a few of my fav's... I can look at their stuff all day long...

Meschantes Corsetry, Excellent maker of custom corsets... I have the Diva.

Patricia Rose Studio, Outstanding doll artist, one in a million. Took a seminar from her in May 2006.

Lady Jane Stained Glass Houses, I love dollhouses, but this woman's work is on a whole other planet from me. Some of the most amazing examples of miniature work with innovation I have ever seen.

Leather Masks by Ryl Mandus, Truly gifted mask artist, with a wonderful sense of humor.

Chantal Mallett- Couture Designer, Glorious gowns with corsets, a truly imaginative woman. Just one of fav inspirations.

Personal interests

Dahlal Internationale, Fine retailer of gorgeous Bellydance costumes... another passion of mine, one I am striving to get better at. This is a store I'm hoping to soon be a patron of...

Staircase Tattoo, Fav local tattoo shop... Teresa is awesome!

Carnevale di Venezia, We were lucky enough to be in Italy, on our 3 week honeymoon, during Carnevale... and hunny, it doesn't get more romantic than that!

San Francisco Giants, Yup, the hubby and I are fans... what can you do.

Disneyland, The happiest place on Earth, of course!

Shoes at Zappos, The shoe Mecca. What costume designer doesn't have it in for a great pair of stilettos? This is a great shoe store, fair prices, and one of my many frequent stops online... We won't even go into the rest...

Gotham City Online, Ok... Just one more fav shoe store. This store has a limited selection and limited sizes, but the prices are worth looking at. All the major brands, and usually cheaper than other places. If you can find your size, they are worth the effort...
